- (Preventive in the sense to prevent the need for residential services, to assist the parents and school in their attempt to serve the child in the home).

- Parent Training - While a child is in placement, BAC will strive to include the child's family as part of the intervention and treatment process.
- Related Services - Psychiatric and psychological services, speech therapy and other related services are available according to the needs of the individual.
- Transition Services - In order to insure a successful transition from residential placement back to the home and community, the following services may be provided: Parent and In-home Training, Classroom Support, Teacher Training.
- Animal Interactions - BAC has a menagerie of friendly animals which the children may adopt as pets and care for under staff supervision. Our current animal population consists of dogs, cats, hens, roosters, rheas, potbelly pigs, pygmy goats, miniature horses, hedge hog, lizards, tarantula, hamsters, rabbits, cockatiels, ferrets, doves, miniature horses, a donkey, pheasants, partridges, ducks, frogs, emus, a cockatoo, snakes, geese and guinea pigs.
Reintegrative or Discharge Services
- (Upon discharge from residential treatment, the following services may be provided in an effort to assist parents and school districts in an ongoing manner. This type of follow up can prevent regression and loss of gains made while in residential treatment.)

ADMISSION CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
- BAC is licensed to serve emotionally disturbed children ages 6-22, male and female. BAC is able to serve emotionally disturbed children who may have additional handicapping conditions such as autism, mental retardation, mental illness, visual or auditory deficits, drug and alcohol abuse problems, traumatic brain injury, as well as conduct and behavior disorders. BAC is unable to serve children who are pregnant or parenting, H.I.V. positive, without behavior problems or those who require skilled medical care.

- The following documents are necessary upon admission:
- Psychiatric or psychological evaluation within six months of admission, signed dated by a physician or licensed psychologist.
- Medical examination within 30 days prior to admission (Medical examinations dated within the last year are acceptable if the child is being transferred from another facility.)
- Birth Certificate
- TB Test
- H.I.V. test
- Immunization records
- Blood serum levels if seizure disordered
- Guardianship/custody papers where applicable
- Dental exam within 30 days of admission
- Medicaid card where applicable
